FURUNO’s new production plant in China was chosen as the business organizations that fulfil satisfaction of the workforce

FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD. is pleased to announce that its production facility in Guangdong province in the People’s Republic of China (Guangdong sheng, Dongguan shi, Chang’an zhen Wusha cun, Jiangbei), which was established in April 2005, has been selected by the local authority of Chang’an zhen as one of the business organizations that fulfil satisfaction of its workforce.
The selection is conducted by means of questionnaires filled by about 30 per cent of total employees of each organization. The questionnaires entail the comprehensive queries into working environment, such as health and safety at work, working relations between the employees and those in management and so forth.
There are approximately 2,300 business organizations operating in Chang’an zhen amongst which 1,600 is organized by foreign capital. It is this group of 2,300 organizations that this selection is targeted at, and the selection is conducted every year to assess the well-being of the workforce there. FURUNO’s production plant is registered at Jiangbei jumin xiaozu (Municipality of Jiangbei) where approximately 100 business organizations are registered. Only FURUNO amongst those was selected this year. In the Wusha shequ (Wusha Community, the administrative agency above the municipality of Jiangbei), FURUNO’s plant is to be introduced as the model corporation of foreign capital for the time being.
The main reasons for our success is said to be in the welfare program the plant delivers. At the dormitory within the plant, air-conditioning, hot water and shower is provided for the workforce to make sure that the workers benefit from the comfortable and hygienic living environment in breathtakingly beautiful modern plant. What is more, there is another factor that perhaps contributed most to our achievement: there has been no major labor-management difficulty thus far, resulting from its welfare program. FURUNO takes this achievement as an honor and is determined to continue its effort to further improve workforce-management relations.
